When silence is not golden

Silence is the lack of audible sound. It is a moment of low intensity or the absence of communication. In silence we can communicate with body language which includes gesture that is being interpreted by anyone that is in connection with the sender. It is a very important factor in sending messages through rituals and other non-verbal gestures.

Within our society the right to silence is a legal protection enjoyed by people undergoing interrogation by qualified authorities. We are all able to exercise these rights; it is something we obtain as citizens of a free community. “You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can be held against you…”

If we were to examine silence in spiritual turns, it can be disturbing. It was said that God was silence for a period of four hundred years. In those moments the people of Israel was without a true guide and because of this they were left in bondage and mistreated by their wicked task master.

In spirituality silence is often a metaphor for inner stillness. When there is a silent moment you tend to free yourself from the onslaught of thoughts and patterns which is important in spiritual development. Such silence is not the absence of sound it is to bring you in contact with the creator and put Him in focus so that you can develop a closer relationship.

We all can agree that silence is a powerful force. It can produce profound emotions or startling sensory experiences. In today’s world of media saturation silence seems to have become a scarce commodity. There is no limit to the rhetoric and the sound that is drowning out our conscience in making decision that affect our society.

I am tending to look more closely at the word silence because there are times when silence is not golden. Let’s check the dictionary to look at some of the definitions. Although I can find various definitions, I will choose one that I feel fits my reason of expression. This is “Refusal or failure to speak out.” The time to speak out is times when we are compel to go against oppression and excessive human behavior.

Just recently we were all heartbroken for the children of that senseless gun violence. How long do we have to sit back and wait for more of this tragedy to happen? The time is now to break our silence and let it be known that enough is enough. Children should not have to go through this tragedy. It’s time to break the silence and let it be known; we will not sit and wait for this to happen again. The time for action is now so let not your silence be golden.

A “We” In Control

We march forward the future is clear, in a moment of solitude we reach towards the goal; we persevered it is now clear that we are in control. We are the number forty sevens yet we cannot be ignored. You may try to stop us and it will be a time of reckoning because the pen is mightier than the sword.

We have been looking to the future with great anticipation. Sometimes it seems that the mountain is too steep to climb but we march on and now we are in control. The voices came from the distant pass and have caught up to the future with a thundering roll. The age we are in gives us the advantage. Oh yes things have changed and for those who were not aware they are now behind. Just in case you are still wondering let me repeat: A “We” in Control!

The dashboard was the steering wheel that propelled the forty-seven. Negative words spoken were like a torn in the flesh. The days of social media and the open air wave have changed playing field and so we cannot be ignored. The level of intelligence and the keen ear to discipline that is far-reaching for the plain and simple. We will move on to a brighter tomorrow not fearing the number ones because we now have a voice that cannot be silence. “A We in control”

“We the people” are a multitude. When we come together there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. We unite as one; we fight for a common cause.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.

We are the ones that visit the prison and help to set up a link that will help to transform criminals into great citizens. We visit the sick in their moment of distress. We feed the poor and take care of the homeless. We sacrifice the funds we have to help our neighbors. We get up before dawn and prepare ourselves for work taking care of the “ones” even when the wages aren’t enough. We are the ones that can live off one hundred dollars for a month and still do not complain when the odds are against us. This is the truth that cannot be denied. I now reaffirm my case and make it clear, “A we in control.”

Take our message to the streets and make it plain, we will not be ignored. Our patients are long and our deeds are kind. We have stated our cause and have decided our course. Let the train start rolling as we move on unobstructed by the people we send to represent us. There is no more time for games there is work to be done. The holidays are over our rights has been won so let’s be clear; if the job is not done because of obstructionist, may I remind you, the pen is mightier than the sword!

We stand on the hilltop of the future so please don’t push us off the cliff. A good legacy depends on the choices you make. Let’s be fair and listen to the masses because we have spoken and it is our time now! You had your time and wasted it away; now the sun is shining and it is a bright new day so we send this message: We are here to say, “We” will not compromise because we have been overlook for too long. I end with this message; get your act together or move out of the way.
