Motivation

How do you spark life into a situation that seems hopeless? What are the building blocks to real success? One answer that is at the forefront of every successful accomplishment is, motivation! Before we can achieve anything in life we must be motivated to pursue the goals needed to accomplished the task! Motivation is a construct used to explain behavior. It represents the reasons for people’s actions, desires, and needs. It can also be defined as one’s direction to behavior or what causes a person to want to repeat a behavior. In other words, what is your motive for doing the things you do? That hidden force is the inner power that drives your motor to the next level. Channeling that force will motivate you to great or no so great things.  Unfortunately, many are motivated to do the wrong. They use resources to affect things in a negative way. A motive is what prompts the person to act in a certain way, or at least develop an inclination for specific behavior. Please keep in mind that motivation is that inner ability to reach through a scale of impossibility.

While I am not trying to be controversial, I feel obligated to look at some things that have been happening in our society. Let’s ask ourselves why; what are the reason and the motive for such actions? It is now everywhere; it does not matter the association or what people are moved to believe; passion for justice, peace and co-existence will dive you to the next level of self-motivation and reaction for the cause of justice. People are motivated to get involved and because of this they form groups that are associated with their cause. Such organizations give folks a sense of hope moving masses to take action. These are the results of internal and external factors! The question is, do you sit back and wait for things or situations to change? The answer is no! We rise up and are driven to fight for a cause. The same can be said for any other organization or individuals who choose to move because of their deep seated beliefs. The topic is motivation and not controversy. Therefore, I hope you take what I am writing with an open mind and not seek to categorize this blog for what it is not intended.

As I see it, motivation results from interaction of conscious and unconscious factors. We often ask ourselves, how badly do we want something. This question can be a factor for the reason of certain behavior. How intense is that desire, what are the incentives or value of the goal we are pursuing. You may say, I need a new job or I need to accomplish certain objectives before I reach a certain age! The question is why? The more you thought of it the more you are driven to succeed and you are motivated to reach your goal. There is a need and an incentive to go after and fulfill that need. You are motivated to succeed. On the other hand, you could have thought about it and sit back without reaching out to achieve your desire; it’s lack of motivation. Without that inner drive nothing much will be accomplished. We would be one big society of people with dysfunctional behavior strobing around on this big blue marble we call earth.

Do you want to have a more positive outlook on life? Become motivated! This is an essential recipe for success. Get a positive outlook on life, be excited about what you are doing while you invest your time into something worthwhile. You might be a leader in any organization or even at work. The question is how do you keep the motor going in the midst of so many different personalities? You no doubt have to possess the art of motivation. Moving the group to the next level takes motivation and incentives. What causes folks to react? When there are incentives; something tangible to look forward to, then it drives excitement and with excitement comes motivation.

I would like to leave with this quote I was reading through: “Motivation can be conceived of as a cycle in which thoughts influence behaviors, behaviors drive performance, performance impacts thoughts, and the cycle begins again. Each stage of the cycle is composed of many dimensions including attitudes, beliefs, intentions, effort, and withdrawal which can all affect the motivation that an individual experience.” Be moved; join the movement and get on this train of motivated species heading toward the promise of a better tomorrow!
