A storm is coming, prepare for the turbulence

It is not even a year since we all experienced the tragedies that spread across our state and many a distant shores. Indeed many are still trying to come to terms with the experiences while coping with the everyday challenges. The stresses and strains are still being felt even as we remember those moments of fear. However, inspite of the feeling of dismay and disappointment, we are determined to conquer the storms of life that is heading our way. When a storm is eminent there are preparations to be made. However, if we delay and procrastinate the dangers we face will overtake us and the chances are, it will be hard to recover form the disaster. We can’t afford to sit around and wait hoping it will pass us by without any effect. Those who are prepared fare the best and live to tell the tales but those who are simple minded and unconcerned will always be left digging from the rubble of despair wondering why didn’t I do the right thing when there was time!

It might seems insignificant at the moment but we are facing a storm of epic proportion. It is not just a storm that will leave us paralyzed at the moment but the affect will eat away the very core of who we are and what we stand for as a nation. Just like a silent killer it is blowing strange wind from directions unknown and places unforeseen. We may be in the eye of the storm but be prepared for the moment the eye passes. I have been there and experienced it. I will tell you the truth it is a moment you don’t want to encounter. We hear the turbulence and see the shaking of the reeds and the sudden calm but pays no attention to the warning signs. Nature is warning and is in an uproar because it knows the changing of times and the season we are in. However, we have become numb in our feelings and perception. Please wake up and give attention as the storm closes in. Many will fall, exhausted by the lack of foresight; failing to stop look and listen to the warning signs.

I write of the things I see as a contribution and a voice that might not be heard but the question that is being asked: Can one man make a difference, can one voice change the course of history? This is a question that we have to answer individually. We have the power to change the world one person at a time. We have to make the move and take on the challenges for change. Looking throughout history we have seen the power of one who left a lasting impact on generations. May I say that we are in the era of change where civility and morality has been thrown out of the door; replaced with ignorance and immaturity even in high places. The time has come for us as individuals to accept our role in society and take a bold stand that sends a message to those in authority; we will not be held hostage by your reckless behavior. It’s time for a change. The storm is coming; it’s time for caution. Let’s fan the flame of civility and justice: show the leaders that no one is an island. When we come together we can change the course of history and make this world a better place for all humanity.

The forces of nature is not about to wait neither should we. Let’s get rid of toxicity and leave a lasting legacy for our children and grandchildren. Something that can be cherished for generations. With the storms that are brewing, let’s go find a safe haven where we will be able to find refuge securing the minds of a new generation who has no concept of what is happening. Protect their minds from the recklessness and insolence of the rich and powerful who cares nothing about the disasters their actions create. It’s time to run for cover; the storm is with us and it is time for change!
