Why should we pay

With all the chaos that surrounds us it is easy to turn a blind eye and not see the things taking place within our society. Let us not forget that we are a part of this turbulence and as the water rises we should be careful not to get swallowed up by the rising tide that is about to consume us. We must not forget the place where we were and the efforts made to put us at a place where we are able to make great strides and advancements for the future.

Why the rhetoric, the empty promises that is leading us to a path of no return. What was built in years is now being destroyed in a day. The choices we make, the selfish rhetoric’s the hate and the pain will take years to wash away leaving us in bondage to low self-worth, worry and fear. However, the price will be paid for ignorance, self-love and visionless leadership. The time has come to let our voice be heard because silence is not golden and ignorance is not bliss but wisdom will prevail!

Why should we pay for a wall of frustration, degradation, mistrust and political manipulation? The writing is on the wall; the hand is moving but no sight of a body to guide it. Therein lies the mystery of the moment. Heaven help us all! What times are we in! With all being said, it is time to brace ourselves for the next chapter because we are about to turn the corner to a place with many crossroads. Therefore, we are called to listen to the one voice that is standing ready to guide us; however, if we are not attentive we will miss the mark from which we will not recover.

Money will not pay for common senses. It can pay for sabotage as you rejoice to see a legacy being destroyed but in the end, it will take decades to mend the fences that are being destroyed. Heaven help us all as we sail on this ship that is sailing to a land of no return with a captain that is steering without a compass or a map: relying on the ignorance of others to steer this ship into the storm. The turbulence is rising, the waves are rolling high, the skies are dark without a glimmer of light but we are asleep in the dark hoping to ride this through. In the end who will pay? It is we the people who are too blind to see the road we are being led down wearing a mask of religion, a mask of hate and confusion not having a clue until it is too late.

Wake up my people; see men as men and not men as trees. Don’t be fooled by rhetoric. Loyalty has no place to play in the path of a fool. If the blind leads the blind they both will fall into a ditch. It is only a matter of time until your grave clothe is off then you will realize the travesty of the moment long past. It will be too late and the only thing you will have to look back on is the memory of the past. The word is: ” By the rivers of Babylon there we sat down and there we wept when we remember Zion.” Please don’t let this be your song wake up and take a stand!

Emerging

We emerge from isolation, silence and tragedy, to stand tall in times of obscurity. We are a people of untethered strength with a force that is greater than anything the world has ever seen. We rise out of desperation, we reach forward with vigor; we stand in the gap ready to take the challenges that faces the next generation. This is a relentless generation that is searching for its identity. We call then the techs’, the millennial; just like those who was sent to spy out the Land, some returned with a bad report. However, there is always a remnant who is willing to stand against all odds even when standing alone means being alienated from the crowd.

We come from a place where there are no ambiguities, it is plain and simple; we are a force with the heart of a lion yet humble as a lamb. Standing on the side being undecided is not an option, the time is now to get up and show your strength; your will to survive. You will emerge with strength standing strong and prepared for a battle against the invisible foe. He is willing to cause collateral damage to the kingdom without remorse.

The emergence of a new world order has taken place. The world is a different place, society has transformed into a social scale that has never been seen before. We are drifting into a world of seclusion, however there are still questions that needs to be answer. Looking at things from a world perspective, we see new trends taking place. I ask myself where is God in all of this? Everything seems to change and it is not necessarily for the better. Make the comparison and determine if we are a sane society! Yes, we are coming to terms with the reality of what was: is not what it used to be.

I am disappointed of the prospects of what is ahead. Where are we to place the blame? Surely, we can look at leadership and shove it off on them but we to have to live up to our responsibility. Why are we in such a hard place? Clearly the choice we make leads us down the road of despair but there is hope. At lease that is what I think. As we emerge through time and season we can begin to repair the path that seems irreparable. The God of yesterday is still the God of today; we can’t replace him even if we try. There is no denying that he exists and is in control. He is the one who can take us out of darkness and show us the light. Despite what is going on around us, we can emerge with hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Where are we going as a nation? During all this confusion, it is time to come out of the dark and let our light shine. There is work to be done with truth and righteousness showing the light in dark places. The emergence of a new world order suggests we wake up to watch what is happening around us. Government is not the answer, church is not the answer; we have taken on the consciousness and realization that there is only one answer and it is in God. It is time to rise and emerge from obscurity; raise the flag of victory without surrendering to low morale. Find your place in this space and stand tall with head raised proud of who you are and to whom you belong. It is time to rise and lift the blood-stained banner high. The cross was carried on our behalf; the story was told and proven and now it is finished your redemption has been paid. It is time to emerge!

The Dream

We are people of dreams, we grow up wanting to becoming heroes. Someone that society can look up to. We would like to champion the cause of the poor the homeless and the disenfranchised. Your family might have made a covenant; you would be the great hero they had hoped to become. A dream they have been long waiting to see fulfilled; they have lived the disappointment and now all eyes are placed on you. You were their hopes and dreams but alas their hopes have all but faded away.

Gods’ word said, without a vision the people perish. Prov.29: 18. What is vision you? Visions are dreams locked up inside our hearts waiting to be released. (This is my personal interpretation base on my opinion.)  While it is important to dream, be careful to follow those dreams if they are going to lead us to a path of success. Dreams are important driving force that propels us to the next level of life experiences.

I must admit that in our quest for fulfillment, we are faced with many frustrating moment. With the hope for self-fulfillment, self-awareness and self-gratification, we have lost what it means to be a hero and a leader. We have sold morality for economic privileges. We have given up the dreams of what was once important to us. What once grab our attention, the things for which our heart and soul craved. We progress through time and have now come of age to see our dreams come to pass: We have lost our dignity as producers in the work force and have succumbed to the stresses of eroded humanity and have lost our ideals to immoral, illegal, unethical or irresponsible actions. Every day we hear about it, someone is reaping from the seeds they have sown. They are unwilling to be identified because now their harvest has blossomed while they are refusing to reap their crop of indignity!

In this world, we live, we are progressing in technology but we are taking a backward turn in morality and spirituality. Our young people have become fathers and mothers but could only be qualify as children themselves. They are not equipped with the tools, the moral fiber and daring courage to stand up to society and give direction to the ones they help to bring into this world. Frustration has cause them not to want to dream. The result is a life of crime, hopelessness and now we are a decadence society. If we fail to dream, we are not fulfilling our God given responsibility, we are not living the life of success that God has ordained for humanity.

I once heard someone make this remark, “I have been down so many times, I don’t even think of getting up.” What are we living for, what are our hopes and aspiration? We cannot allow the pressures of society to guide us through a life of hopelessness. Let us turn our situation around by giving God first place in our lives; only then we can find the hope to dream again. People of the twenty first century, let us take up the torch of responsibility and run with dignity against the race of injustice, inequality and misfortune! God has given us a life filled with hopes and dreams. We must reach out and take hold of the promises He has left us. Those promises will lead us to live fulfilled lives with His blessings ever abounding in our path. Live the dream, you can make it to the next level in this life!

Courage, the strength of character

These are solemn moments the time when we need to lock arms in unity, stand strong and unite for a common cause. This is not the time to sit and fold our arms and grieve over our situation, status or difficulties in life. This is the time to stand tall and strong. People are depending on us to take up the mantle and run with the torch so that we can finish the race. We must be tough to survive in this generation. The test is on; will we stand up to the challenges of the moment?

We are a proud people, a nation of worriers, men and women of valor. This is what God calls us. What do you call yourself? He knows us; when he assigns us, He knew what we were capable of; He called us “Mighty men of valor.”

Amongst us there are people of courage who do not mind standing up for what they believe. People who are determine to do the right thing in the face of difficulty. It does not matter how insignificant you might seem to others it only takes one to chase a thousand. I often think of Gideon he was the least amongst his brethren and of his clan. His family would not be considered as being very important in Israel but when God approached him, He called him “a mighty man of valor.” It does not matter what is your status in life or where you come from or what you have done or where you have been, you are important to God and he has given you a title. Man/woman of valor!

God is looking for people of valor. He wants to enlist you in the army and in the arms of his love. Just like Gideon you might be hiding in low self-esteem but God is looking for you and is saying to you come out; it is time to march. Stand up and be counted, be willing to lay down your life for the cause.

You might be looking at the situation and asking; is it really me? Yes, it is you; If not you, then who? Men and women must be willing to rise and answer the call.

In tough times, sometime we must separate ourselves from the crowd just like Gideon had to separate the crowd. God sometimes strip us so we can focus on the assignment to which He calls us. When you are being stripped, it seems as if your world is falling apart but God does the pruning before the growing. He sometime puts you in the furnace so you can be cured. Therefore, we learn to cope with difficulties without compromise.

Think of the road ahead, it might not be paved with gold but you can make a stepping stone out of what seems to be a setback. Take courage, it will help to strengthen your character. The strength of a man/woman is in his compromise. Strength is always proven by resistance! When there is no force there is nothing to resist. However, when pressure comes a decision will always have to be made. A man’s inner strength determines his ability to withstand temptations, persecutions, seductions lies and other pressures that work to enervate his manhood.

Jesus demonstrates the perfect traits of manhood. He laid down his life. He accepts responsibility for the action of the whole world. He taught men; only by losing one’s life can it be gained. It is time to get up and stand tall in the midst of low morals, lies and deception. Take courage in difficult situation!

Remove not the Ancient Landmark

The richness of our history is a heritage that is needed to be preserved. Our fathers fought and gave their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom, peace and harmony gained. To tear apart in a moment what is so dear to us is but a travesty; it is a stripping away of our dignity and self-worth. The bonds of love and togetherness has crafted a nation despite the turbulence that continues to endure.  Who would have thought that we would be facing this moment of crisis?

The time is upon us the moment when the decision that was made has driven us off course and we are now drifting in bewilderment and amazement the direction we are heading. All eyes are on us; the frog jump in the cold water where it became comfortable, it is now boiling and it cannot get out. When one decide not to participate the result is catastrophe. Are we the laughing stock or are we too blind and bewildered to realize the water is getting hotter and it is time to jump! Let us stand with one united voice and with a clear message; “enough is enough!” Get up stand up’ stand up and unite and don’t give up the fight!

We are under attack and it is not from the outside. So, we are afraid of the terrorist. Have you ever thought of terror within? The fabric of who we are; the good we have done will be gone in a moment because we chose to remove the ancient landmark which our fathers have built. There goes the saying, “give me liberty or give me death” which way are we heading? Is this the end of our civil society? I get it, we are too afraid to let anyone in so we will build a wall of comfort and ease while hiding in the dark afraid of our own shadows. Now we don’t want to let anyone out!

We all believe in freedom. It is said that this country was built on the idea of freedom therefore there stands a representation of what we believe. It is standing on Liberty Island. This statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the “Roman goddes” who bears a torch and a “tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the “American Declaration of Independence”, July 4, 1776. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad. Now times are changing and I am sure there are tears running down the eyes of this monument as it stands with hand up held even when the vision of its creator is facing a gloomy future.

No matter how rich or poor you are there is one thing that you should not change and this is the things the was implanted in you from those who have blaze the trail that you now must follow. The moments the stories and mementoes that you have been given and are now a part of who you are; the values and much more. The saying is, don’t remove the ancient landmark that your fathers have set. It is the values, the rich history and the dignity we gained with the passage of time. Can we be so naïve to think that those things do not matter? Greatness is not the ability to destroy what took centuries to build, it is the humility gained from knowing that you are around when you are needed most. Let us not tear down the landmarks our fathers have set; let us build a bridge with an outstretched arm to welcome strangers in. This is what greatness is; linking the world with peace hope and togetherness.

The scriptures said, “I was naked and you clothe me, hungry and you feed me, a stranger and you took me in

What do we mean by the old landmark? A landmark was considered a sacred space that helped perpetuate family holdings and was used as a means of protection against deceit, error, and confusion. In the ancient days, it was the custom for someone who had land adjacent to someone else to have it stolen because that other person would adjust the land mark to steal the property of the other.  The landmark was set as the boundary between the two properties. Let us look at it from another point of view! The things handed down from generations and given to us by those who have fought so that we can enjoy a good life without going through the things they had to go through. The things left for us; the values they shared and the strength and fortitude endured just so that we could live in peace and prosperity. These are the things we should hold on to; not giving in to the values that lead to nowhere but distrust and confusion.

As I sit to write what is in my heart, I share solidarity with those who are suffering because of the lack of foresight of others. Let us use the ancient landmark as a bridge of possibility to foster courage, love and respect. Let us not spread hate and fear. We are all a part of humanity, we have different shades but we are all unique. Please share the space as we endeavor to harmonize this big blue marble we call planet earth. The landmark was set as a guide we should hold it dear, guarding it at every moment or the thief will take it when you lease expect!

“Reflection”

The road ahead; Is there hope for tomorrow

As I sit and reminiscence about the past and look to the future, I look with hope for a brighter tomorrow despite the challenges that is ahead. The dust has settled on the past year; soon we will forget the moments, the challenges and the tragedy. We have survived the pain and heartbreaks the most difficult moments with its up’s and down. Let us not forget who it was that guided us through moments of despair. History will mark the year and all its highlights. We will see these times as moment with different points of view but the one thing for which we will be grateful, we were part of those historic moments.

God has given us a mandate; we cannot think with a narrow mind or look through a tiny microscope because this universe is too large to ignore. I am not about to make New Year’s resolution because they never work even when you try. My question is, are there hope for tomorrow; is there anything hopefully to look forward to? It depends on your outlook on life! Think of where you want to be and set goal to reach them. Things will not change by thinking alone you must plan, create strategy and find ways to implement your plans. We are all procrastinators and before you know it time will pass and we will look back and wonder what has happened. Work with urgency to fulfill those goals make this effort part of your daily breathing habit.

It was just yesterday I was thinking that I was the youngest in my group but today as I look back I have graduate to the top of the class wondering how did I get here; now I am the one they are calling old. Is this true? What is oldness it is just a season by which we have graduate to someone more meaningful with so much more to offer. One thing is for sure we are smarter and wiser and we have the experience and the foresight to see far into the future.

Is there hope for tomorrow? Yes, there is! The government and the politician may let us down, things might not have turned out the way we thought but there is hope and there is safety in unity. The struggle has begun, let us not be side step by empty promises; we have already seen the trends that is set. Join the struggle and come together to fight for our future, our children and our grandchildren they are the ones who is inheriting the mess that is going on. However, we need not worry because God has it all in control. The word is: “don’t worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for today is the evil there of. Don’t worry be happy!

With that said, yes there is hope for tomorrow. We who have hope beyond this present moment will one day graduate and be at peace forevermore. We have a mandate and that is to spread love even in the face of hate. No matter the circumstances, let us give love a chance!

A Nation in distress;too numb to perceive.

Should it become a case of bewilderment or a time of abandonment? The charge is left for us to sort through. The case is closed and the jury has returned with the verdict. Just as that infamous case of the pass when some gasp in unbelief, the ghost has returned to haunt us just like the Halloween masquerade of the past all wrapped in a mask. I say it is too late for those who are mourning the lost and the hopelessness and a feeling of despair. It is time to awake the sleeping giant, mobilize; don’t just sit in despair looking for someone to blame for your inadequacy, lack of vision and foresight.

Can anyone imagine that in a modern day where information is key and is at your own fingertips that we have so much disconnect. It is said that at least forty percent of the folks who are eligible to do so did not vote! What travesty? May I ask the question: why? Why bombard the cities making a mess trying to create tension when you were given a chance to change the outcome but failed in your civic duty? It makes no sense to me!

Are we disappointed? Yes, we are! But it is time to move on lick your wounds dust yourself off and begin to mobilize. Don’t be caught off guard when the ball is in your court. This message might be simple but it is sure and it is short; “Get over it.” We have a nation to build and a country to mold. Let’s look at the brighter side or we will live in despair. The race is not for the swift or the battle for the strong but for the ones who endures.

My message is give love a chance! It will be the force that break all barriers, the cure to every pain and the material to rebuild with after the storm has passed. I would like to use the words of my friends Skillet who I find very interesting as a musical group. They speak to the things that move me.

“I am a nation’ I am a million faces, formed together, made for elevation I am a soldier, I won’t surrender. Faith is like a fire that never burns to embers (Who’s gonna stand up, who’s gonna fight?) The voice the unheard. (Who is gonna break those chains and lies?) Love is the answer. I gotta speak it, believe it, that’s how I feel inside. I, I, can’t, can’t sit here quiet.” “This is how we rise up. Heavy as a hurricane, louder than a freight train.”

With all the distress of the events taking place, let us all hope for a great future in which all human kine will exist in peace and harmony making the globe a better place. Let us end this year with the joys of the season knowing that Christ came to give us life and that more abundantly.
