For better or worse, what will it be?

We are entering into a new era; one that will define who we are as a nation and a people, one that will test the strength and will of our leaders resolve. The stage has been set and all the actors are in place; it is time for the first act to unveil. As we sit to watch and listen for the prologue, we have to make the move as maestro conducting the orchestra deciding who will win the Grammy for a great gesture of performances. At this moment in time, this is where we are. Standing at attention agonizing in pain for a nation that is in decline. The ring is stretched to its limit, it’s only a matter of time before it breaks from the impact of the punch. Though it might seems jovial, it’s time to take a close look and examine ourselves. Everything is in a tail spin and getting fast out of control. I feel like saying stop this world, I want to jump off. The plunge is too deep and I am afraid that if we take the leap, we will never survive from the impact.

What will we tell the next generation? Moments lost is a moment that has undermine the future for the coming generation. We are aware of the double jeopardy we face yet leaders of illusion and delusions are trading our history turning it into the romances of medieval times. Examples are before us, we don’t need a vision to see and understand from history. Look at those who once dominated the world; they are now so far from the dominance they once enjoyed; civilized society looked back in amazement and asked how could it have happened. We are at the threshold of the very same moment when they sit idly by thinking it would never happen but alas, the world changed leaving then in chaos wondering down the slivers of history in bitter tears. Power can corrupt absolute power when it goes unchecked. We need a role model that will be a mentor for for our society. I fear for my grand children and the future they are coming up against. What can we do to capture a lockless monster that has been running wild trying to capture big foot while burning the forest trying to understand the times and moments in history. We are running out of options; all signs are pointing to disaster with an environment that is posting signs of distress. This concert is coming to a climax leaving the audiences it has sought to warn without success.

This is the way we go, fa-la-la-la-la. The new has come and the old is now behind. What will we do to set the stage for success in the coming months? These are times for deep heart searching. No time to lose, let all hands be on deck as we seek to guide this ship that is drifting for a quick sands.

Why are we shutting down a government with all it’s potentials for the sake of a wall? Are you now saying that a wall is more important than a people? Look at the millions who are being displaced, the damage being done to our economy; lost opportunities we will never regain and the families who will be left in distress. It is time for us to brace for an economic collapse because believe it or not, it is coming. We are all strangers in a strange land. We were brought here from somewhere else. Does that not make us all immigrants? So what’s the fuss? It seems you are only prevented from entering in if you are of a certain ethnicity while others are entering in freely. They are classified as others because of their close relationships. Shouldn’t we all be put on a ship and send back to our place of origin leaving the people we met here to live in peace?

So you want to create a perfect society: what will it be when all others are gone? Who will do your dirty work; cook your food and look after your children? You have no idea what it is to have a perfect society! Will you be sick or die of a broken heart when you realize the significance of your action; not being able to function? You depended upon us to find your shoes, clean your clothes and grow the food you need. Who will fill the gap of your illusions? Who will bring you back from the depths of despair for the lost you inflicted and the misery you will bear?

Wealth has been made from the back of those you called undesirable. We work long hours so your can relax in comfort while we suffer in pain. We will survive! You can break the limbs, break the branches but you will never be able to get rid of the roots. We were planted and have been buried deep into the fabric of this nation; there is no way to uproot us because we cannot be transplanted. Our pledge was to fight for freedom by giving our life blood to defend this nation; we have fulfilled our pledges but are now being given the boot. It is time for us to arise and open up our eyes to the monsters sitting at the table. Let freedom ring down like rain and justice rise as the dust of the earth!

Visionary leaders

Featured

In the world we live in it would be difficult to imagine a world of leaders who could not foresee the role they play in shaping the functions of human behavior. Leaders must stand up as defenders of what is right even when it is unpopular; they have to be able to stand alone when all hell is breaking lose around them. Be that as it may, to have leaders who are unprepared and show themselves to be novices only corrupts the positions for which were elected to serve. We need visionary leaders in this twenty first century who find it easy to do the right leading by example for for others to follow.

A visionary leader is respectful of his team members. He empowers them to come up with different ideas that will help the organization to succeed. They will feel empowered knowing that their opinions matters. Give them the power of self worth. In other words, what I am doing or what I am contributing to matters. It is comforting when you can see that you play a part in making a difference in people’s lives.

It is not difficult to understand that a visionary leader must do his best to inspire others to succeed. You might be popular within your scope of associates but how much are you able to motivate others into a rightful way of moving forward while maintaining the success they were promised? Your job is to motivate everyone to greatness even if they might not see as you see. They must want in some way to be a part of the catalyst for change not the path to destruction and deception.

A visionary leader should be a good communicator; be able to get his point of view across while maintains a good balance in leadership. They knows how to verbalize their dreams and goals and do so to their team. In this age of social media, it is never the smartest thing to always go to social media before having an audience with your team. Communication is not a one sided thing. He most be a good listener. It is great to always involve your team in helping to reach your milestone while advancing your dreams.

I find that visionary leaders are also charismatic leaders. They possess a special Majic that makes you want to move on their words. To always criticize the mistakes of others is to turn off those who would have otherwise be an asset to you. Many leaders fail for lack of lack of foresight and self control. A leader is a good organizer being able to see their own weaknesses and put the right person in place to fulfill the roles that you might not be able to fulfill. Visionary leaders are risk takers. Failing to take risk can sometimes lead to failure. There are times when you have to stop thinking and get to doing even when you are all alone in your decision. Others might not always see what you see and they are alway skeptical of the move you make however, staying on course and fulfilling your purpose will help to convince them of your intents. Sometimes you have to gamble and take the risk in order to advance the cause.

Be strategic in your planning. Look at the market and the trends and be able to move at the right moment even when it is unpopular to do so. Define where the organization is headed and stay the course. You cannot be afraid to take risk. The good book say,“he that always observe the seasons will not sow.” Ignore the season and plant your seed even in bad times then when things turn around your will be the first to capitalize on the increase. Put things in place to give you the truss forward in success. In other words create an action plan for success. A visionary leader is willing to delegate responsibility. They do not think that they have to do it to get it done. They must possess trust in their team and realize its a team effort; if one succeed all succeed but if one fail, all bears the responsibility for failure.

Finally I saw he that observe the season will not sow and therefore, is not in the position to reap. The trends you set today will determine your success or failure tomorrow. Be a visionary leader and help others become great! Visionary leaders: inspire, motivate and give guidance and hope . They’re meaning makers. Happy twenty nineteen! Be motivated to to take the leap and jump to success!

The power of kindness

It is not difficult to think of ways to return favors. Today we sow seeds of kindness tomorrow we reap kindness and favor in return. This idea is not difficult but in today’s world it stands out when someone takes up the challenge and give or do a good deed in return for nothing. This is because the world we live in seems to be on a collision course with itself. The world would be a much better place if we would stop to consider others. The good book says, “Cast your dread upon the water and after many days it will come back to you.” Considering the season we are in, it is time to spread hope to the hopeless and give to those in need. Love will find a way!

As I look at two contrasting event that took place recently, is leaves me in despair on one hand and courage, hope and optimism on the other. It seems so simple to do the right thing but yet we are succumb by the wrong. No wonder Paul says, “The good I would I do not, and the evil that I would not that I do.” Thinking about it can be painful because we all have good intentions but sometimes they turn out wrong! Just a few weeks ago we were all stunned by the event of the storms that passed through our state. It seems for some all hope was lost. We looked at the devastation and wonder what’s next? However, we never forgot who was in control. Time has passed and those moments are slowly fading from our minds but there are those who have to face those consequences each day hoping that they can rebuild the things they have lost.

Just when the light of kindness seems to have faded, there was one who still remembered and was compassionate enough to do something about it. We heard it on the news; one man gave up his business establishment to help in accommodating those in need of help. That is commendable! It also triggers other responses. This jester of love touches our hearts and causes us to think of love on another level. In a nation where hate and bigotry is thriving, love shines through. Inspite of what we tell ourselves, we see hope and love shining through moments of despair. Thank God he is still in control of the affairs of man! Let us raise our hearts to the state of consciousness and give a shout-out and thank you to those who lend a hand in some way to make life better for those in need. We thank you for your kindness and dedication!

We will not put too much emphasis on the negative because this is the season for rejoicing, a season of hope and renewal. As we come together to celebrate this “Thanksgiving” season we must not get entangled and lose sight of the reason we give thanks. It is not the time when we rush to shoppe for things we don’t even need but a time to stop in consideration of how far we have come and what God has done for us. Many started the year on a bright note but today they are no more. For others it is just constant trouble and disasters but we will remember the name of the Lord. For in Him we live and move and have our being. We are his offspring! Happy thanksgiving!!

Why stop the caravan

They are coming and we are scared! That’s what they say! They are illegal and they are coming to take what we have and leave us in despair. This is the talking point we hear every day and I ask myself why. How can one become illegal when they have not crossed our borders and are still thousands of miles away? It seems we are living in fear and misguided assumptions without knowing the truth of the matter realizing we have nothing to worry about. Who would believe that a nation with such military might would be afraid of a few thousand immigrants without bombs and guns. It is a shame and down right absurd. We should be afraid of our own who is killing children in schools and night clubs and other social gatherings. This is just like telling your teacher that the dog eat your homework so it prevented you from turning it in. It seems to me that the one who is spreading these false messages needs to take a class in diplomacy and human behavior.

When does one become illegal and what is the definition? To be illegal is to be prohibited by law or acceptable rules. This means that if the parties involved is not being prevented by law because they have not broken any rules then they should be classified as something or someone else. Who wants to be bamboozled into fear of people seeking for a better life for themselves and their family? No one, therefore, the argument set forth does not stand and have no relevance unless a crime is committed. Wasting resources and setting a trend that is beyond disgraceful is not something we all should tolerate. People have a right to freedom, justice and peace. When those basic rights are taken, they have the rights to ask for protection from those they deemed able to help. Sadly big brother is burying its head in the sand of time; only history will recall the moments missed when we could have help in curbing this exodus.

We must not forget that we are all emigrants who came here seeking for a better life for ourselves and our family. It does not matter if you are white, black, brown or any other color we all have one thing in common. It is time we wake up and see what is happening amongst us, we can’t rely on the words of a few to lead us into what they wants us to believe; we are living in an era of enlightenment; information travelers far and wide with digital speed. We can’t be fooled so stop the bamboozling!

In a country and in any nation we all need immigrants to help build our economy and our infrastructure. There are things that are done by immigrants that would not get done by nationals for what ever reasons. Therefore we should be grateful to accept those who are willing to put their lives on the line, fleeing violence and want a better life for themselves. Where is the compassion and the freedom and liberty that was given to you when it was needed most? It is time to stop look and listen to the silent cries of the disenfranchised. We are a people of compassion. Just like the chickens runs to their mother for coverage in times of need these folks are looking for covering trying to save a generation from misdeeds. The clock is ticking while a nation holds its breath waiting to see what will happen. We must not forget those being held in cages. Those taken from mothers separated without reason.

Even in the day of old immigrants were given a chance to work amongst the citizens. They were the hardest workers who sacrificed everything for a better life for themselves; it is not different today. They are not coming to kill and take away, they are contributors whose resources make this nation great. The tide is turning and believe me there will be seasons of regret the way we treat strangers in times of need. The word is, I was hungry and you feed me. I was destitute and you clothe me; I was in prison and sick and you help me. Where has all the love gone? We must let freedom ring from shore to shore. Freedom that brings hope to the hopeless and peace of mind to the disenfranchised. Let us not sit in silence but get up and stand up for our rights. The time is now; will you help?

A storm is coming, prepare for the turbulence

It is not even a year since we all experienced the tragedies that spread across our state and many a distant shores. Indeed many are still trying to come to terms with the experiences while coping with the everyday challenges. The stresses and strains are still being felt even as we remember those moments of fear. However, inspite of the feeling of dismay and disappointment, we are determined to conquer the storms of life that is heading our way. When a storm is eminent there are preparations to be made. However, if we delay and procrastinate the dangers we face will overtake us and the chances are, it will be hard to recover form the disaster. We can’t afford to sit around and wait hoping it will pass us by without any effect. Those who are prepared fare the best and live to tell the tales but those who are simple minded and unconcerned will always be left digging from the rubble of despair wondering why didn’t I do the right thing when there was time!

It might seems insignificant at the moment but we are facing a storm of epic proportion. It is not just a storm that will leave us paralyzed at the moment but the affect will eat away the very core of who we are and what we stand for as a nation. Just like a silent killer it is blowing strange wind from directions unknown and places unforeseen. We may be in the eye of the storm but be prepared for the moment the eye passes. I have been there and experienced it. I will tell you the truth it is a moment you don’t want to encounter. We hear the turbulence and see the shaking of the reeds and the sudden calm but pays no attention to the warning signs. Nature is warning and is in an uproar because it knows the changing of times and the season we are in. However, we have become numb in our feelings and perception. Please wake up and give attention as the storm closes in. Many will fall, exhausted by the lack of foresight; failing to stop look and listen to the warning signs.

I write of the things I see as a contribution and a voice that might not be heard but the question that is being asked: Can one man make a difference, can one voice change the course of history? This is a question that we have to answer individually. We have the power to change the world one person at a time. We have to make the move and take on the challenges for change. Looking throughout history we have seen the power of one who left a lasting impact on generations. May I say that we are in the era of change where civility and morality has been thrown out of the door; replaced with ignorance and immaturity even in high places. The time has come for us as individuals to accept our role in society and take a bold stand that sends a message to those in authority; we will not be held hostage by your reckless behavior. It’s time for a change. The storm is coming; it’s time for caution. Let’s fan the flame of civility and justice: show the leaders that no one is an island. When we come together we can change the course of history and make this world a better place for all humanity.

The forces of nature is not about to wait neither should we. Let’s get rid of toxicity and leave a lasting legacy for our children and grandchildren. Something that can be cherished for generations. With the storms that are brewing, let’s go find a safe haven where we will be able to find refuge securing the minds of a new generation who has no concept of what is happening. Protect their minds from the recklessness and insolence of the rich and powerful who cares nothing about the disasters their actions create. It’s time to run for cover; the storm is with us and it is time for change!

Strangers in the land

More than four thousand years have passed since we heard of the story of a people displaced and their return into the land of promise. Since then things have evolved. However, strange things have set the tone for humanity to repeat the dark and dismal days of those unfortunate incidences. The moments in time when unrest and chaos ruled the nations in a world of turmoil and distress is upon us. No one seems to have recognized the trends that is leading us back to a place where tyrant once ruled. They were strangers in the land hoping for a new day and a new beginning. So many had hope for a brighter future apart from the hardship and turmoils they endured. Their displacement and feeling of despondency caused them to lose hope. The hope for a brighter tomorrow was clouded in despair. It seemed there was no way out of the traps which held them bound. However, as strangers they had a promise of new beginning.

As a people we have endured over four hundred years of slavery; the burden of injustice tried to break our spirit yet we live on. We were beaten and humiliated, families torn apart but just like dust we rose up from the trenches of anguish and despair; we bored the sorrow and pain hoping for change. Taken from the bottom of ships and sold to the highest bidder yet we live on. Where is the promise of sunshine, the light at the end of the tunnel? Those who profit from our misery are still enjoying the fruits of their ancestors while denying us a place and a purpose for us to grow unhindered. Time has crept up on us yet the dark voices of slavery is crying out from yonder graves; it’s a cry for freedom, a cry for a place we can turn to so that we will no more be strangers in the land of liberty a monument of hope placed on our shores. There are moments it seems we have cross the threshold of time but the cycle has never been broken and so we are here at the junction of injustice crying for mercy to capture us and set us free from the pain. Look at what we have done, look at where we are; we are at the precipice of extinction waiting to be rescued. We run for our lives from our tormentors yet shot from behind; dying in the streets and in the fields. Injustices rules a nation where color is the monopoly that determines who is right or who is wrong.

Time has past but we find ourselves where we started. They are placed in cages, in a holding cells ripped apart from their families, displaced in modern hell. Yet no one has the answers to where they are going. The turbulence of time and the moments of despair has returned to a people seeking refuge. They came to liberty but alas liberty is no more; it has closed it’s doors. The rulers of destiny has become inpassionate turning their back on those crying out for help. What or who have we become? Where has manifest destiny gone? Children are now living as strangers in the land not having an identity and no parents they can turn to. The story is too familiar; it is time we open up our eyes and see the similarities of the times. Are we creating an identity crisis just like times before when generations will be forever lost not knowing who they really are? Let those who are fighting to be elected put things into perspective and focus on reality of the moment rather than lining their pockets with wealth gathered from their empty promises. It’s time to stop the madness and have empathy for those who are strangers in the land.

This behavior is very similar to the times we were taken from our mother land. We were dispersed to every corner of the globe without compassion. Mothers lost their love ones, fathers lost their sons leaving us without an identity. We had no way to identifying who we really were, where we came from and the true roots of our ancestry. We were strangers in the land looking for a place to rest our weary souls. Although we have come this far, the question still remains: Are we heading for the mountaintop looking with anticipation hoping there’s sunshine when the dreams of tomorrow will bring a brighter day? Hate and violence is taking it tole while the flames of hate captures a nation led by an image made of Iron and Clay. Let’s put aside our indifferences and work towards the renewal of human dignity. Though the writing is on the wall, the interpretation can be words of success. It is time to live in peace and harmony instead of being “Strangers in the land!”

Shifting Sands

In a moment of ideas and differing views we have seen the shaking of times as we strode in times of unrest and social injustices. Times are shifting; moments when everything that can be shaken will be shaken. Never before have we seen so much disrespect for life, dignity and human culture. It is sad to say this but the writing is on the wall and there is no one capable of interpreting it. Everyday things are shifting and the moments of madness has caught us in a state of compromise. It’s time to stop look and listen to the signs that has emerged. We are traveling in a direction where the pendulum is swinging and the sliding pole has taken us into a place of the unknown. We listened to the clips as the comparisons are made; we are not far from those day of turmoil that was vowed never to return. However, I believe a great climax will take place; be prepared to advance into a time and season with hope and fulfillment. We are living in times of shifting sands.

The era of tweets and talks into Siberia silence where we will not meet the confronters face to face. There is hope for a brighter tomorrow and a peace that will surpass our imagination. Let us build our hope on the rock of all ages and rise up out of the dreads of a low life and living; off the shifting sands of time on to the rock of hope and promise.

The word is “Shifting Sands.” In life we must to be prepared to build. It might be things but at this point we want to focus on lives. Let us build our lives on a rock where we will not be shaken. Those who build on sands will be quickly removed and blown off course. A wise man build on rocks. Therefore they will not be shaken. When the storms of life comes because our foundation is deep we will stand firm. The foolish build on the sands and is being moved by the times and seasons. May God help us to be grounded on the rock that will withstand the pressures of time and into eternity!

Look at the times we live in! It is truly disturbing. Everyday there’s another school shooting. It has now become a norm. The empty promises are overbearing because there is no one willing to take a stand. Have you ever encountered a sand dune? It is a ridge of sand created by the wind and is found in deserts or near lakes and oceans. It is that moment when one find themselves sinking into a hole that seems to be without end. When we find ourselves in this condition we usually cry out for help hoping that there is someone or something too hold on to. Moments like these are very testing because only then we find out what we are made of or who our real friends are. We should never attempt to ride the shifting sands alone; we need codependency; someone to help us out of our mess being careful not to be blown too far off course to a place of no return.

When a nation is in the state of decline, it is on shifting sands and need a stabilizing force to hold it together. Who is going to be that anchor to carry us through the storm? We all have to decide because no man is able to take us to that place of comfort and ease. As much as we are afraid to admit it, God is the only true source of help. Only he can help us now! It is time we let go of our insecurities and hope in the shifting sands of time and trust in the rock of all ages to take us to our place of comfort and joy. Let go of the “Shifting Sands.”
