It is interesting how we live our lives; sometimes it seem in contradiction to the reality of who we are. We live in a world that is moved by the things we possess, not taking the time to evaluate our live and what we can afford. Wanting to be like everyone else we cause ourselves much pain and regret in the long run. However, we have all heard the saying, “keeping up with the Jones.” That can be a task in itself as we try to navigate the real issues that it presents. The word says that a man life does not consist of the things which he possesses. May I engage you for a moment in a conversations that might influence your thoughts and sense of perception of the way we emerge into things so simple and seemingly innocent that they are allowed to pass without recognizing the adverse affect it has on our lives and way of living. It is time to forget the Joneses and carve a place for ourselves that is not base on what everyone has or possess. Being satisfied is the greatest blessing you can have. You will possess an attitude of gratitude and live with peace, love and understanding.
The Joneses are a simple and innocent couple; they never asked or demand your attention. However, it is easy to see from the flares and trills of what seems to be their lifestyle, everyone wants to be like them. Every body knows them! They are the most sophisticated couple in your neighborhood. When you are least aware they will sneak up on you with the latest possessions, fashions, ideas and luxury. They always seems to be on top of the world, a perfect couple! I would describe them as being very ambitious, out going and sometimes outrageous. This is not an attempt to hit on them or even criticized their behavior or their personality; it is an attempt to inform the innocence about the trap of wanting to be like the Joneses.
I am sure you know of individuals who you can describe as wanting to be like the Joneses.
These individuals has everything however secretly he complained of not being able to make ends meet. My question is, why follow the Joneses. Following ends to lasting regret and broken relationships. Many good relationships has been broken up because of not being able to maintain that lifestyle which leads to disappointment, pain and distress. Trying to project something that is not is a bad deal on individual perception when you are not able to maintain the things promised. Therefore I would urge you to forget the Joneses and live a simple live without false perception which leads to painful regrets.
The word says, be aware of covetousness because a persons life does not consist of the things he possesses. This is the first lesson I would like to leave with you as you take a peek into the life and time of the Jones. For them it is ok, they choose to be the leader of their pack. To them it is very simple and wonderful to be in a position of comfort and ease. They go through life seemingly un perturbed enjoying the luxury of life. They say that life is good! For you it might be a life of regret and a road filled with many obstacles ahead because of the decision made without thinking of the consequences.
It is important to live simple; live within ones means and make plans for the things that is important to you in the future. Don’t forget to make a budget while sticking close to what is planned. It would be easy to keep things simple as you travel through this journey with a road map of your own. Do what many are doing and forget the Joneses!
