In Solitude and Silence

We live in a moment when all of creation is crying out for help. This pattern runs very deep; the things that we never hope for has come upon us; now we groan under the pressure of the storm we encounter. Let the heavens sing and the earth cry out with a thundering roar for the emotions we feel. In the solitude and silence we endures.

Who are they and who are us: it’s a question we asked ourselves because in a modern world with everything to help us improve our status we are more isolated than ever in modern history. We speak and we share a common need however we are socially isolated. Our connection is through the media and for this purpose we might never meet yet we can be connected in an instant. We operate in silence not able to share our most private thoughts or get help where it is most needed because who can we trust!

In all of this, we have a creator who is there waiting to help “for in Him we live, and move, and have our being” no need to feel dislike or out of place; there is an opportunity to connect to the source of our existence. In God we are made strong in Christ. He choose us for his work. We carry his make upon us even when we are in silence, he knows our need and is there to help us cross over any barrier.

No doubt we are in a state of isolationism even as we go on our way operating as if all is well; the truth is, we suffer in silence not willing to share our inner pain; we set ourselves apart from others. Is this a defense mechanism in which memory of an unacceptable act or impulse is separated from the emotion originally associated with it? This is a question that only an individual can answer because in the moment of silence, only they knows.

I often like to reflect on the words of a song I love where it states, “The state of affairs at the moment indicates that a stand will have to be taken soon by we the people ourselves” We can’t allow divided voices to separate us if we are going to rise to the challenges we face. Let there be a change by the people. It’s time to get out of isolation in a country divided as we all face international isolation because of the actions of politicians. Can we afford to suffer in solitude and silence without lending our voices to the injustices and moral decay that is prevalent amongst us? I will say people arise and open up your eyes!

Another day; another moment and our rights are being stripped away. Executive orders are being signed when one doesn’t want to be silence for untruths and we smile in silence not realizing that was just another stripping of justice that is being taken away. Just like the nations we abhorred in the past, we are now right on path following along those very lines. Electronic surveillance is the order of the day as cities and states seek to follow our foot prints in the name of contact tracing. Soon they will know how many people live in your homes because there will be spy cam everywhere. Do we think for a moment that this is a lie? Or will we give little or no attention and say, “Oh that will never happen here!” You better think because while we are in silence and solitude sleeping with lack of foresight and awareness there are underground workers planning to take away your freedom! No need to remain in solitude and silence; educate, participate, communicate and evaluate! Let us shine the light on the problems we face. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden so rise up and shine your light.

What a wonderful world

I woke up this morning and gazed out my window looking at the atmosphere; it is covered with a tint of grey. A contrast from the bright and sunny mornings we have come to expect for a normal day in what we call the Sunshine State. However, I look at the shaking of the trees and twigs as it swayed by a slightly flowing breeze; it reminds me there is life, nature and the existence of a creator. It is a moment to ponder and a time to reflect on the beauty of nature and all it holds. The wonder of creation and the existence of a God who creates a world out of nothing bringing it into focus as time evolves and slowly passes away. All of it’s intricate details; things that still hard for the human mind to comprehend, never a dull moment if you stop to meditate and reflect on your every blessings . Truly His ways are past finding out His awesomeness is beyond explanation. There is nothing to be compared to the wonder of creation!

The Psalmist points out “The heaven declares the glory of God and the firmament shows His handy work.” Who could have caused the earth to hung in space, give men the knowledge to discover the great unknown and venture into space where they can discover the great cosmos? There are many doubters to his handy work but that does not stop him from preforming his duty of keeping the world in order despite the unthinkable deeds of men. It is said “ Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing.” Even when they took council against him they will always stumble and fall. He who sits in the heaven laugh. He looks at their ignorance and laugh!

Consider the universe and all of it’s beauty, think of the air we breathe, the water we drink and all the provisions that is afforded us. We have no need to worry about the future but we do. However it is time to stop and consider the wonderful world we have been given, a place to procreate, a place of wonder and a place of hope. Even when it seems that things aren’t working for you, he is always doing something working on your behalf.

I can’t help but take a moment to reflect on the words of a song I love dearly. “I see trees of green, and red roses too. I see them bloom for me and you. And I think to myself what a wonderful world. I see skies of blue and clouds of white the bright blessed day, the dark sacred night and I think to myself what a wonderful world. The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky are also on the faces of people going by. I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do. They are really saying I love you. I hear babies crying, I watch them grow. They will learn much more than I’ll ever know. And I think to myself what a wonderful world.” Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Beyond the wonders of human understanding and the mysterious science of human experiences the world stands as a fortress in its place of existence. It was only a word that spoke it into existence and called all of it’s galaxies to combine into one true moment of creation. A wonderful world where no man needs to lack in love and self fulfillment, a place of rest until human tried their hand at perfection only to mess things up trying to be in control.

Once again a day is coming when all of God’s creation will become perfected, when He calls his children home and a cleansing begins. The wrongs will be made right, darkness will be no more and peace will govern this universe. The Lion will lay down with the lamb and we will be forever in the presence of the Son. That will truly a wonderful world!
