Why should we pay

With all the chaos that surrounds us it is easy to turn a blind eye and not see the things taking place within our society. Let us not forget that we are a part of this turbulence and as the water rises we should be careful not to get swallowed up by the rising tide that is about to consume us. We must not forget the place where we were and the efforts made to put us at a place where we are able to make great strides and advancements for the future.

Why the rhetoric, the empty promises that is leading us to a path of no return. What was built in years is now being destroyed in a day. The choices we make, the selfish rhetoric’s the hate and the pain will take years to wash away leaving us in bondage to low self-worth, worry and fear. However, the price will be paid for ignorance, self-love and visionless leadership. The time has come to let our voice be heard because silence is not golden and ignorance is not bliss but wisdom will prevail!

Why should we pay for a wall of frustration, degradation, mistrust and political manipulation? The writing is on the wall; the hand is moving but no sight of a body to guide it. Therein lies the mystery of the moment. Heaven help us all! What times are we in! With all being said, it is time to brace ourselves for the next chapter because we are about to turn the corner to a place with many crossroads. Therefore, we are called to listen to the one voice that is standing ready to guide us; however, if we are not attentive we will miss the mark from which we will not recover.

Money will not pay for common senses. It can pay for sabotage as you rejoice to see a legacy being destroyed but in the end, it will take decades to mend the fences that are being destroyed. Heaven help us all as we sail on this ship that is sailing to a land of no return with a captain that is steering without a compass or a map: relying on the ignorance of others to steer this ship into the storm. The turbulence is rising, the waves are rolling high, the skies are dark without a glimmer of light but we are asleep in the dark hoping to ride this through. In the end who will pay? It is we the people who are too blind to see the road we are being led down wearing a mask of religion, a mask of hate and confusion not having a clue until it is too late.

Wake up my people; see men as men and not men as trees. Don’t be fooled by rhetoric. Loyalty has no place to play in the path of a fool. If the blind leads the blind they both will fall into a ditch. It is only a matter of time until your grave clothe is off then you will realize the travesty of the moment long past. It will be too late and the only thing you will have to look back on is the memory of the past. The word is: ” By the rivers of Babylon there we sat down and there we wept when we remember Zion.” Please don’t let this be your song wake up and take a stand!

We, The Generation of us

This is the generation that is now setting the standard for what is next. It is the advent of the Millennials after the Exes. It might seem strange to think that this generation is any different from the past but as we look at it closely I would have to say it is. We have move from the Generation Ex to the generation Next. This is what I define as the “We, Generation of us”. So what does it hold for the advent forces of newbies marching forward to discover the adventures that lies ahead; what are the challenges, the motivation or the gains that will emerge in a time of social change?

I am not an expert on any of these thought or subject but I would like to state things from my perspective and hope that it is interesting enough to start a conversation that will allow you to think of our world, where we are heading and the prospect of what is to come. “We” is define as more than one: just like “Us” it is not a selfish act; it is one that calls for unity and collaboration among people of differing class, race and status. We breaks barriers to change by challenging the status Coe. It defies the call for passivity and is moving headlong to achieve lasting change bringing to light the things once hidden in the dark to light.

According to the Council of Economy Advisor, Millennials are the largest generation in the U.S., representing one-third of the total U.S. population in 2013. This is the first generation to have had access to the Internet during their formative years. Millennials also stand out because they are the most diverse and educated generation. I say that the “We’s” are different because their level understanding are different. Now; I am not trying to put down the other generations as being dumb but let’s look at it through the eyes of technology; everything is now digitized and to understand most terms and codes one would almost have to be a wizard but the for the We’s this come naturally as if just another game. Everything is geared towards the “We Generation.” The “We’s” are in control; believe it or not this is how it is going to be. The Exers can fight against it all they want but this is here to stay; all we have to do is just be adoptable to change! We the generation of us defies the system and are setting new standards with commitment to social change.

Technology defines the true nature of the advances in our world. The cell phone has replaced the need to carry documents which leave long paper trail, everything is now stored in the clouds and can be access with the touch of a button. Because of advances in technology news are being sent at the speed of light helping us to see thing as they unfold. No longer are we dependent on the few news Medias with their biases; people can record events bringing to light the truth as it is being unfold.

While it is true that the “We’s” seems to have it together and they have advance in technology it is disappointing to note there are much lack, confusion and undiscipline. There are things they face regularly that is beyond their reach. Striving for the top does not come easy it takes determination and pure grits to move beyond the norm just to reach the next level.

Take a look at what is happening. Although more educated, unemployment seems to be higher.  Why is this the case? Going to school and getting a degree is sometimes not enough because when faced with the practical situation, they are more than likely to be overlooked for lack of experience etc. This leave them with a sense of frustration, many are underemployed; they face the burden of high student loans and will be subjected to poverty, depression and stress because they are not able to cope. Therefore I would want to suggest that the “We’s” learn to be patient, develop perseverance and a sense of purpose. Establish a good foundation on which to build your future.

In spite of all the confusion, the chaos and the frustration seek God who is the answer to this world’s dilemma. The generation of “Us” can be a catalyst for change that will send a lasting message and place a stamp in history with a message of how to overcome!

I believe in me

Every day and in many ways we are looking for something or someone to believe in. We are never satisfied being alone, we need someone to validate us. We all need something to hold on to. The search is on for that moment or that someone who would bring us that satisfaction that peace of mind.  We look for that perfect situation or that ideal location; we need to be believed and we go through great deal of trouble trying to fit in. Sometime in our lives we need someone to lean on; the question is how much we really need another person to validate us. This is just another longing of the human soul. When we are alone and cannot find ourselves we turn to the closest thing for happiness, peace and comfort. Is there anything to hold on to; is there anything to find comfort in?

We have that inherent want to be believed in. Who can I trust in a relationship on in our everyday encounters? No doubt we have met heart-break at some point or time in life so we become insulated and cut off from trust of any kind. How about believing in who you are? No matter the accomplishments, the fame or success, life can be empty without someone to share our dreams and realities. However when it come to the true picture of ourselves, we need to be able to believe in ourselves. Believe in me!

How about having the confidence to step out and away from the norm! Set goals to follow, be the exception and not the rule. Throw your head back and hold your hands high and shout at the top of your lungs, I believe in me!  In so many ways we all seem to be holding on trying to find ourselves. We try to compete with society while looking for answers that we cannot find or so we thought. When life is in a shamble and everyone walk away, who do you turn to in times of need and frustration? Have you ever stop to think that you are your greatest asset. When no one will give you a chance and you are the only one staring into the mirror what do you do? Just tell yourself, “I believe in me!”

There is no need trying to compete with anyone or trying to live up to others expectation about you. Those expectations could create a sense of false identity, possibilities too hard to reach. What happens when you have tried and still you become weary and frustrated? Why being stuck and still can’t find your way? Don’t try to compete with everyone else; just be yourself and believe in who you are!

Life is too short to be distracted by things or those who set themselves up with negative tones. Believe in who you are! If you do not trust you and if you do not believe in whom you are, or what’s your true potential, who will believe in you? You can set yourself up for success or failure base on what you chose to believe about yourself. You can either see the giant or see yourself as the David with the stone and a sling. However you chose to believe, you will decide your road to success. Don’t waste any time, it’s time to believe in me (you). It is time to eat the grapes! Don’t sit around looking at the impossibilities. Look at the promises of what you have been assured. Are there road blocks in the way? Yes! But your victory has been assured. Take the first step to believe in you even when no one else will.

Here are the lyrics for a song I came across recently. It gave me much to think about. I will share it with you! (Sorry I don’t remember the author of the lyrics). It says: “I’m losing myself trying to compete with everyone else instead of just being me. Don’t know where to turn I’ve been stuck in this routine. I need to change my ways Instead of always being weak. I don’t wanna be afraid I wanna wake up feeling beautiful… today And know that I’m okay Cause everyone’s perfect in unusual ways So you see, I just wanna believe in me.

The mirror can lie. Doesn’t show you what’s inside and it, it can tell you you’re full of life.
It’s amazing what you can hide just by putting on a smile. I’m quickly finding out
I’m not about to break down not today. I guess I always knew that I had all the strength to make it through.”

Everyone is perfect in an unusual way! Do you believe that you have been fearfully and wonderfully made? You were born for such a time as this. Count your worth and don’t give up hope. That’s what the word says! You are one of a kind. There might be imitations but you are unique, one of a kind; you are the original. Often imitated but never duplicated! Be the best you can be and tell you; “I believe in me!”
