Lend a helping hand

We have all watched with horror and amazement as the event of CharlesTown unfolded. We thought, here we go again! What we thought was the coming of age of this great nation has suddenly turned into a mascaraed of opportunist bigotry and hate. How could there be a storm of hate so persuasive that captured the frontline of all human imagination. We have now revealed the true nature of what this place we all love has become. It only took a few turns of indecisiveness and a forgotten past to take us back to the place we vowed never to return.

I recalls the lyrics of a song I heard before: “Out of chaos and strife, we have found a hope we have never known. A glimpse, just a glimpse, just a gleam but a flicker of light like we have never seen.” This was the way I felt just a few years ago but now my soul is in search for this peace and assurance that this light will ever show. “Yet in spite of all our hardship and misery and poor economic condition we must struggle on.” We will never forget but we must carry on!

Only a few weeks later we are here together lending a hand to those in need in the time of disaster. We see the outpouring of love as the nation come together lending a hand of love and togetherness helping to heal the wounds of those affected. Let’s ask ourselves why can’t we all just get along; live in peace with love for all mankind? No matter how awful the situation might look, not everyone is a spreader of hate. Unity will hold us together in times of crisis and human turmoil. Let us not live in despair!

We send our prayers to those affected by this disaster (Harvey). We share our resources not forgetting everyone in need. Today we are well and in high spirit, tomorrow we could be in the very same condition so let us take up the challenge and lend a helping hand!

I do not want to divert to what was written a few weeks ago so I am attempting to continue this dialog. It is now our turn and the arrow is pointing at us. The lasting effect of Irma will be felt for decades to come. History has rewritten itself because we have never seen anything like it before and all records seems to have been broken! Though we might have been spared the wrath of the wind, some have to deal with the flood of rising water as we seek to salvage what is left of the memories and memorabilia’s that can never be replace. We need a helping hand, a hand of mercy and grace. We need a hand of comfort and courage because some are living in despair. Some have lost hope and are barely hanging on. Let’s not forget the words of the Psalmist: “Yea thou I walk in the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for thou art with me.” When all is gone we turn to God!!

The pressure is mounting as we look around: we ask what next, who can we turn to? This is the magnitude of what we have never seen. It stretches from the Caribbean to the Americas. The chaos the heart break and despair. It is time to hold on, don’t give up the fight. I believe that help is on the way. As the darkness fell so will the light break through. We can all do our part in some way to lend a helping hand. Comfort the weak, reaching out to the poor and lonely spreading the love to let someone know that we care! This is the time for us to break down barriers across borders, spread love that will dispel hate; a time for unity when we all can stand as one human chain holding hands across nations, towns and cities in love for all!

Is it normal to be afraid? I believe so! Fear builds courage and courage build trust, faith, hope and a belief in one self. This is how we are going to be able to move on and conquer the giants that surrounds us. The moment for us to rise is now. Let’s be resilient and rebuild for the future not only homes of brick and mortar but lives built on a solid foundation. No matter the storms of life we will stand because we have built upon a rock whose foundation will never crumble. It is time to lend a helping hand!

We emerge from isolation, silence and tragedy, to stand tall in times of obscurity. We are a people of untethered strength with a force that is greater than anything the world has ever seen. We rise out of desperation, we reach forward with vigor; we stand in the gap ready to take the challenges that faces the next generation. This is a relentless generation that is searching for its identity. We call then the techs’, the millennial; just like those who was sent to spy out the Land, some returned with a bad report. However, there is always a remnant who is willing to stand against all odds even when standing alone means being alienated from the crowd.

We come from a place where there are no ambiguities, it is plain and simple; we are a force with the heart of a lion yet humble as a lamb. Standing on the side being undecided is not an option, the time is now to get up and show your strength; your will to survive. You will emerge with strength standing strong and prepared for a battle against the invisible foe. He is willing to cause collateral damage to the kingdom without remorse.

The emergence of a new world order has taken place. The world is a different place, society has transformed into a social scale that has never been seen before. We are drifting into a world of seclusion, however there are still questions that needs to be answer. Looking at things from a world perspective, we see new trends taking place. I ask myself where is God in all of this? Everything seems to change and it is not necessarily for the better. Make the comparison and determine if we are a sane society! Yes, we are coming to terms with the reality of what was: is not what it used to be.

I am disappointed of the prospects of what is ahead. Where are we to place the blame? Surely, we can look at leadership and shove it off on them but we to have to live up to our responsibility. Why are we in such a hard place? Clearly the choice we make leads us down the road of despair but there is hope. At lease that is what I think. As we emerge through time and season we can begin to repair the path that seems irreparable. The God of yesterday is still the God of today; we can’t replace him even if we try. There is no denying that he exists and is in control. He is the one who can take us out of darkness and show us the light. Despite what is going on around us, we can emerge with hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Where are we going as a nation? During all this confusion, it is time to come out of the dark and let our light shine. There is work to be done with truth and righteousness showing the light in dark places. The emergence of a new world order suggests we wake up to watch what is happening around us. Government is not the answer, church is not the answer; we have taken on the consciousness and realization that there is only one answer and it is in God. It is time to rise and emerge from obscurity; raise the flag of victory without surrendering to low morale. Find your place in this space and stand tall with head raised proud of who you are and to whom you belong. It is time to rise and lift the blood-stained banner high. The cross was carried on our behalf; the story was told and proven and now it is finished your redemption has been paid. It is time to emerge!

It is a solemn moment in time when every day we wake up to what seems to be dwindling hope. We have to face our fears of what can happen or what will eventually be based on the events that surrounds us daily. The bible asked this question: what is man that you are mindful of him or the son of man that you visit him? We are made a little lower than the angels and are crown with glory and honor. Even with such words or question we have to look at our surroundings and ask the question; Is there any hope?

How do you define hope? What do you think about when you hear the word hope? Is there a sense of purpose that drive you to hold on to what seems impossible? Hope gives us the reason to look beyond the things that affects us; the things that would drive us to the point of no return. It is looking to the future with expectation for change. It says that there is a brighter day coming with great anticipation for a positive turn around: A cause with a common goal to fight for what is unknown.  In light of the things going on around us today we do not see much, we do not believe much and we do not expect too much. However, hope in itself offers real insight into the future and the great possibilities that is ahead. We all hope for a brighter tomorrow but that also takes faith in pursuit of the goal.

Someone says that hope is: “to cherish a desire with anticipation, to desire with expectation of obtainment, to expect with confidence, to hope without any basis for expecting fulfillment.”

Hope for me is define as: Human Opportunity Privileges and Empowerment. This is my definition of what hope is. I see it this way because in spite of the challenges we face, there is still time to make the adjustment and contribute to a better tomorrow. Be optimistic; expect the best in spite of what you see happening around you. Even when all seems lost and the world around you are dark look with confidence and cherish the desire with great anticipation for tomorrow.

In a world where there is chaos and a dwindling sense of hope many are left to fend for themselves because of the situation created by those they trust to lead them to utopia. Promises have been made but are broken which throw nation and societies into turmoil. Many are weeping as they remember yesterday and are now force to face the future in lack, fears and mistrust. They are asking; Is there any hope? In the matter of globalization, hope is focused on economic and social empowerment. I will ask the question! Really? I look at what is happening in our world and a differing set; a value system that seems out of reach for the common man but once again hope deferred is not hope lost!

The bible says that, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick but a longing fulfilled is the tree of life.” The question is asked by Job; What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What prospects, that I should be patient? The answer I would say is summed up in this: But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish. In spite of all that is happening around us let us take heart because the future is bright even though it might look dark at present. Know this, anyone who is among the living has hope. Even a live dog is better that a dead lion! There is not more time for doubt and fear; hold on to hope and you will be alright!

The Audacity to hope

The measure of hope is not determined by who we are or where we come from. Our nationality is not a factor; we all have an inner yearning for something better, brighter and more fulfilling. We hope for a better today and a brighter tomorrow. When faced with situation that overwhelms us we hope! Even when the challenges are insurmountable and the odds are against us we do have the right to hope for something better. This is not an issue that should be taken lightly; a little faith and determination can help you beat the odds. Faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen. There are times when you have to hold on to blind faith because there is no one willing to help us out. However, it doesn’t not matter the circumstance I believe we do have the right and the audacity to hope. We can look forward with desire and with reasonable confidence that what we want we can achieve. Have a vision of what you want or where you want to be because hope will keep us alive.

There are differences in the things we encounter daily; even when statistics say we should not be anything, we can hope! We have to push with great strength even when there is no strength left. We have the audacity to hope that things will turn out for the better because the final outcome is not determined by the forces of man but by God. He makes the decision who you are and what you will become. He said, “before you were formed in your mother’s womb I knew you and ordained you for what you will become”. Dreams are made with vision of the things we hope to achieve and it does not matter who, when or what, if we stick to the goal or the vision with hope we will succeed.

Hope deferred is not hope achieved. I was listening to a story of this man who was telling on himself. He said, “I have been down so long that I don’t even think of getting up.” He has been through the grimes of life but has chosen to defer hope; now he has confessed hopelessness. We should never let our circumstances control our destiny. Develop the audacity to hope! When situation says you can’t, please tell yourself you can. With a positive attitude, you can change your life for the better. There is greatness within each of us but it will not manifest itself unless we make the ultimate shift. Think big and hope for a better tomorrow. Don’t defer hope make hope come alive and you circumstance will change!

“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope. For what a man sees, why is he yet hoping for it: but if we hope for that we have not seen then we wait with patient.” This might seem to be a mystery but true! Check out the story of the Greek Syrophenician woman who had a sick daughter. She tried everything she knew but was without any cure for her daughter. Finally, with the audacity to hope she turn to Jesus. It did not go as smooth as she thought because Jesus told her, it is not good to take the masters bread and give it to dogs. She had the courage and the audacity to hope. She said that even the dogs eat the crumbs from their masters table. With such hope her request were granted.

Develop that fortitude that will make you rock solid in the face of obstacles. It is time to turn up the heat and defeat the foes of self-defeat, mental destructiveness and doubts. It is time to pick up your imagination and emotion and run with all your might until you cross the finish line because while you are still alive, you have the “Audacity to Hope.”

Words are unit of language, consisting of one or more spoken sounds or their written representation. Your words carry meaning, it can affect your situation; way of thinking or how you progress through life.  It is important we speak words that will help to create an atmosphere of love, blessings and peace of mind.  Isn’t it interesting the way words help to move us to take actions leading to success or failure?  Word carries power of life and death. It will make you or break you.  Whatever you do please leave a trail that will lead to future success by the words you speak.

Many times we take things for granted; we talk idly ignoring the consequence of our action then we are in situations wondering how I got there. These are the result of words spoken. Use your words to set goals, project a positive image and enter into covenant relation which will foster growth and development. Have you ever stop to consider that the world were formed by words? God spoke this universe into existence by his words. When we speak words kindly we spread blessings that helps to bring healing, love and comfort to others.

I came across these word from a song I have heard so many times but paid no attention to the lyrics until now. “The words I would say.” “Three in the morning and I’m still awake so I picked up a pen and a page. And I started writing just what I’d say if we were face to face. I’d tell you just what you mean to me Tell you these simple truths. Be strong in the Lord and never give up hope. You’re gonna do great things I already know God’s got his hand on you so don’t live life in fear forgive and forget but don’t forget why you’re here. Take your time and pray. These are the words I would say.”

A little prayer in the morning will release a positive and powerful atmosphere which helps to carry us through the day. We seek guidance and protection from those silent attack that comes against us daily: Fostered by the words we use. If you want to do great things, spread a message of hope and love!

In relationships we set the tone and mode for what will happen next. This can be with regards to the opposite sex or in making a deal. What we say can create more love; make us lose a contract or lose a job. All around us every day all we hear are words spoken. No wonder we get over whelmed. Don’t let words take a negative impact on you. Shake off depression and fear that is spread through negative attack. Let your word be used for healing and restoration.

We have entered into a season of words; a time when everyone will make a choice base on being convinced by the words of the one they wish to follow. While this is inevitable the choices we make will set the stage for what will happen in the years ahead. Will it be empty promises or words that will motivate us to change and share in the good which will follow? The dilemma is real because we do not know where we are heading. Money and power should not be a cause; let good reasoning and the ability to listen to your inner voice lead you in the right direction. Remember words have power but it is only effective when you let it take control.
