Simple little things

We pass them everywhere; things that seemed so insignificant we tend to pay no attention ignoring them along the way. However; those are the very things we sometimes need most. Everyone wants to magnify the large the important and the great but simple little things always make a difference in every sphere of life.

I remember years ago I saw this stone sitting in my Grandmother’s yard. Although it looked kind of special I did not give it much attention until one day someone broke a similar stone and had to replace it. It was only then that I realized that the very stone I had looked at and ignored was the same type of stone that person had to buy to replace the one that was broken. Wow! the insignificant had become suddenly important! What are the little things that we ignore everyday? There are countless. If we were to stop and think about them, it would blow our minds to know what we have done.

We read the story of the widows mite. She was being ignored by the rich and lofty. They went to the Temple and displayed their gifts showing their importance in the sight of men dropping their offerings for all to see. This poor woman had nothing to give so she made a sacrifice. She humbly placed her (mite) offering in the collection and walked away. No one took notice but God say her and knew she gave it from her heart. That sacrifice was important, she gave all she had. Those are some of the simple little things that count.

The next time we come across those who are unimportant, unimpressive and undervalued let’s stop to asked ourselves how valuable are those who seems insignificant; how prone are we to look the other side without giving attention. Those are the simple little things that could make a difference in someone’s life.
